Kerygma: The Word of God
Introduction
On February 4th, 2024, at the Mother of Victory Shrine Church in Tikujiniwadi , Christeen program happened for 5th std to 12 th std students. This time, Rev. Fr. Jojo Thaikadan
led the session and talked about something very important “Kerygma” – the Word of God.
The session delved into the significance of the Bible, offering insightful discussions and engaging activities to nurture the spiritual growth of the young participants. It was all about
understanding God's message better.
Exploring the Depths of Faith
During the Christeen session on February 4th, 2024, the young participants had the opportunity to dive into the depths of the Bible. Led by Rev. Fr. Jojo Thaikadan, the session focused on understanding the different sections of the Bible, including the number of books and the significance of both the Old and New Testaments.
Fr. Jojo provided insightful explanations about the various books of the Bible, making it easier for the young minds to grasp the richness of God's Word. He highlighted the importance of knowing and cherishing each book, as they collectively contribute to our understanding of
God's plan for humanity.
Moreover, Fr. Jojo underscored the significance of offering the correct response prayer during the holy Qurbana, emphasizing the importance of active participation and reverence during this sacred act of worship. He explained how our responses during the Qurbana reflect
our understanding and reverence for the mysteries of faith.
In addition to delving into the depths of the Bible, the Christeen session on February 4th, 2024, at the Mother of Victory Shrine Church offered interactive activities to engage the young participants further.
One such activity was confession, providing a sacred space for participants to reflect, seek forgiveness, and experience spiritual renewal. Led by Fr. Jojo Thaikadan, confession offered a meaningful opportunity for the youth to reconcile with God and deepen their faith journey.
Adding a fun twist to the session, a game was conducted to test the participants' knowledge of the Bible. Emojis representing various stories, characters, or concepts from the Bible were displayed, and the students had to guess the corresponding book. This interactive game not only challenged their knowledge but also encouraged them to explore the Bible in a creative and engaging way.
To add to the excitement, chocolates were awarded to the winners of the game, adding a sweet incentive, and fostering a sense of camaraderie among the participants. This light-hearted activity brought joy and laughter to the session while reinforcing the importance of knowing and understanding the stories and teachings of the Bible.
Through confession, interactive games, and sweet rewards, the Christeen session provided a holistic experience that nurtured both the spiritual and social aspects of the participants' faith journey. As they left the session, the young participants carried with them a deeper connection to their faith and a sense of joy and community that would stay with them long after the session ended.
Conclusion
As the Christeen session at Mother of Victory Shrine Church ended, the sounds of prayers and laughter lingered in the air. It showed how happy and close everyone felt during the gathering. The young people left feeling happy and inspired, carrying with them the things they learned and the friendships they made.
