Bible Pratishta: Embracing the Word of God at Home
"Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes
from the mouth of God" -(Mathew 4:4)
Ideation Incubation
In alignment with the Catechism Department's proclamation of the Year of "The Word of God," our church's catechism embarked on a journey to cultivate a deeper connection with Holy scripture.
We were contemplating a special approach on how we could make this year's theme inscribed in the minds of young children. It was then, under the visionary leadership of our Parish Priest Rev Fr. Shaibu Paul's transformative initiative, turned out to be a biblical experience of spiritual growth within our homes.
Execution
At the heart of this initiative lies the revered presence of the Bible, graciously brought forth by our Vicar and ceremoniously placed within the homes of the students. This symbolic act served as a tangible reminder of the sacredness and importance of the Word of God in our
daily lives.
Through prayers, worship songs, and insightful discussions led by the Vicar, the significance of the Word of God scattered the households, enriching the souls with divine wisdom and guidance.
Creative Approach
The gathering extended beyond mere sessions, as engaging activities and games, intertwined with biblical themes, captivated the hearts of our young children. This approach not only fostered a deeper understanding of scripture but also inscribed a profound reverence for its teachings in the minds of our students.
Conducted Age-group
The Bible Prathishta was conducted thrice in the academic year for 5th & 6th, 7th & 8th, 9th & 10th on 10th February 2024, 27th January 2024, and 18th November 2023 respectively.
Additional Growth
Apart from the spiritual deepening of understanding the word of God, this approach of gathering also proved to be a successful means of bonding among the children. They understand the Word of God and cheer and
enjoy the company of their classmates simultaneously, thus enhancing
their brethren love and bonding.
Conclusion
From the fifth to the tenth grade, each class enjoyed the initiative, embracing the Word of God and acknowledging the words of Jesus, "I am the way, the truth and the light"
Thus, by embracing the Word of God in our daily lives, we are guided along the path of righteousness, illuminated by the divine teachings.
May the presence of the Word of God in our homes serve as a constant reminder of God's love, grace, and mercy, guiding us in all aspects of our lives.
